Introduction

Indonesia adopts type certification for motor vehicles. According to Indonesian Regulation No. 22/2009, any motor vehicle that will be used and operated on public roads must meet technical and road performance requirements. Manufacturers must obtain a type certification certificate in accordance with regulatory requirements in order to bring the vehicle into the Indonesian market and register it legally for use; The inspection and certification of domestic and imported vehicles are the responsibility of the Indonesian Ministry of Transport (MOT) and the Indonesian Ministry of Industry.
