On December 31, 2024, Facets 2 will be used as the last day of the product plan for which feature review has not yet begun. All product plans approved by MFI certification center can choose to retain Facets 2 or Facets 3. Those who submit PPID before December 31st but fail authentication do not need to reapply and submit configuration documents

Facets 3 brings new features and experiences, accelerates the authentication cycle, and improves the efficiency of rectification.

3、Seamless integration with MFi Certification Center (MCH website)

By logging into Facets 3 through an MFi membership account, you can download the latest test cases and generate them based on the product plan and configuration table.

Read the product plan details of the test case reading system to improve automatic verification and reduce the number of manual checks.

The test results will be immediately uploaded to MCH to replace Facets2 Facets file. Upload results throughout the development process, shorten feedback cycles, monitor system quality, and minimize audit scope as much as possible.

The testing issues are supervised by MCH.

4、More powerful ATS

Facets 3 connects to the installed ATS application, allowing the use of the latest version of ATS, shortening testing time by adding iAP2 protocol validation, and automatically generating a new WLAN (IEEE 802.11) instead of manual Wireshark trace validation. Clear and detailed assertions are used to automatically generate reasons for failure.

5、Release and Outlook

Apple previewed the next generation CarPlay for the first time in 2022 and plans to officially launch cooperative models with car manufacturers in 2024.

The specific adoption and implementation schedule mainly depends on the schedule of each automobile manufacturer, but it is expected to be gradually launched within 2024.
