Laws Trends | Significant Changes to Indonesia's Tire SNI Certification Regulations

1、 New bill introduced

On January 17, 2025, the Ministry of Industry in Nisini, India issued the new tire SNI certification law NOMOR 9 TAHUN 2025, replacing the old law 76/M-IDN/PER/9/2015. The new law policy continues the strict requirements for product quality control and import management previously, while also proposing SNI product standards that require higher requirements to be met.

2、 Important time nodes

  • Manufacturers who have not applied for SNI certification by April 2025 can apply for certification in accordance with the new regulations;

  • Manufacturers who have not yet issued certificates during the certification process in July 2025 and have not obtained SNI certificates before July 2025 must reapply in accordance with the new regulations;

  • Manufacturers who have obtained SNI certificates by July 2026 must complete the certification and change in accordance with the new regulations within the validity period of the certificate and before July 2026.
