WANVE News | WANVE Helps Shantui Co., Ltd. Successfully Obtain Functional Safety Certification for Pure Electric Loader
On January 16th, WANVE and Shantui Co., Ltd. held a pure electric loader functional safety certification ceremony at Shantui R&D Center. The main attendees of the ceremony were Mr. Lin Jiadong, President of Shantui Research Institute, and Mr. Bai Yajun, Executive Vice General Manager of WANVE Inspection and Certification Group.
This certification lasted for 6 months and included the functional safety certification of the entire loader and controller VCU. The certification involved training on functional safety standards, certification consulting, certification evaluation, and software and hardware testing. This successful certification marks a new level of reliability and product safety for Shantui's pure electric products, which will be more competitive among similar products in the industry.
On January 20, 2027, the EU's new Machinery Law EU/2023/1230 will be enforced, which sets clearer certification requirements for safety control systems and components of mechanical equipment. The ISO 13849 standard covers every aspect of product design philosophy, development process, and manufacturing. Mechanical equipment that has passed ISO 13849 functional safety certification can avoid defects in software, hardware, and system design, effectively prevent safety accidents caused by electrical faults, control system failures, and other issues, and ensure personal and property safety.
